Press Release Body: Florence, KY-November 6, 2007-BlueStar, the leading innovator in solutions-based distribution for Auto ID, Point-of-Sale, Mobility and RFID products, is announcing it is distributing the LXE HX2 Rugged Wearable Computer for warehouse applications.
"Thanks to the HX2 wearable computer, HX1 dedicated voice computer, and MX7 multimodal scanning/voice handheld computer, LXE will have one of the industry's most complete suite of data collection solutions for picking," says Jim Childress, LXE's president and general manager. "With LXE, customers can now choose the perfect picking technology for their specific applications."
LXE's HX2 is designed to be worn on the arm or waist, keeping both hands free for picking and other warehouse duties. It features an impact-resistant screen made from the same materials found in fighter-jet cockpit windows as well as a magnesium alloy front to ensure survival in rugged environments. The ring scanners are also built as tough as the main computer.
Other HX2 features include: a crisp sunlight-readable display that allows easy viewing in any lighting condition; large, backlit keys that are fully mappable and customizable for specific applications; an Eyes-Free Keyboard with variably-sized keys for no-look navigation; multiple data-capture options with laser ring scanner or 2D imager ring; and an innovative arm band that avoids slippage by comfortably securing the HX2 where you want it. The product comes loaded with the latest Windows® CE 5.0 Professional OS, and an 802.11 b/g radio with Bluetooth option.
"As warehouses are trending toward increasing efficiencies and order accuracy, BlueStar will be able to offer AIDC resellers a solution that will effectively meet these needs with the addition of the HX2 to the LXE line card here at BlueStar," says Greg Seelbach, BlueStar's Director of Market Development.
